amazon sword a a floating plant

obviously amazon swords dont float but...would it be possible to attach with a suction cup to the upper levels of the tank? The only thing im worried about is the roots of the amazon and also blocking too much light from my java moss and anubias plants. I have a 60 watt light over a 30 gallon tank btw.
