Killer Gold Fish

brokenbody123 Nov 05, 2008 12:44 PM

I have three gold fish in a 30 gallon tank. I was wondering what other fish can i put in the tank that the gold fish wont kill. I have tried many different Plecos and algae eaters they eat them all. If anyone have a suggestion it would be helpful.

Hi. That's odd that your goldfish kills the other fish. Are you sure it's not the fish dying and the goldfish nibbling on the dead body? I know of many goldfish tanks with plecos in them with no problems. You can't mix cold water and tropical species, so I know of no other fish you can put in your tank with goldfish.

Yeah, my goldfish seem to get along well with my pleco. In my experience working at a petstore, it seems that plecos are almost a fifty/fifty species: Sometimes you'll get one that dies in a few days, others you'll get them and they're the hardiest fish on earth!
