I have an adult pearl gourami and it has been in the bottom corner of the tank for about 2 weeks now. It only comes out to eat, and them it goes back to the corner. It has never done this before. Is this normal?

You seem to be having a few fish problems.
Do you have them all in the same tank? Or all three in separate tanks?
Are your gourami's fins clamped? This one is a little more difficult to diagnose. As long as it's still eating, that's a good sign.

Until recently, we had absolutely no problems wih fish. My bichir is 4 inches and the gouramis are slightly bigger. The gouramis are the boss of the tank, so none of the fish have been noticeably harassing it. It's fins are not clamped, it just stays in the corner. Thanks for all your help.
Hmm. That's really odd. I can't think of any illnesses it would have if it doesn't have clamped fins, and it's still eating. I'll promote this post to attract more people to it. Maybe someone else knows something I am missing.

I feel so dumb. Could it be afraid of the other gourami? They are both females, could that be the problem?
You shouldn't feel dumb. We are all still learning.
I mean, gouramis are semi-aggressive or peaceful (community) fish, so I don't think there is a problem with there being two, but I'm not sure. I've promoted your post, if you didn't see that already. Hopefully someone else can enlighten us.
