Setting Up Older Tank

Deefish Feb 25, 2009 01:17 PM

Hello. I am setting my tank up again. The tank itself is about 15 years old. I haven't used it in about 9 years. Should I do some sort of checks or tests to make sure it is safe and secure for use? Thanks.

You should check it for any cracks in the seal inside the tank, and you can put water (without fish) in the tank to see if it leaks any where. If it doesn't then you can certainly use it for fishes. Just in case you don't know... you should never lift a tank with all its water in it, especially with an older tank.

Hope this helps.
