Betta acting crazy...

matthewtran Sep 13, 2010 07:27 PM

I was wondering if anything is wrong with my betta fish. He is in a 5 gallon eclipse aquarium with plenty of plants and coverage. The temperature is almost always 80 degrees without using a heater.

Anyway he keeps swimming quickly up and down the corners of the tank. I don't know if this is normal and hes just being curious but he seems to be swimming very wildly up and down the corners very quickly. I just don't want him to get hurt... Is this normal?

He also still eats and explores his tank. But then he'll go back to swimming up and down wildly.

Is he rubbing on any of the decor? Do you see anything on his body? The good news is he's eating.

My betta swims around quickly at times and he seems to be fine. I'd check the water quality and make sure everything's in line. I also have a betta in a 5g Marineland Hex and we're in the middle of cycling. It's the perfect size tank for them. Good luck, and keep us posted!
