5gallon tank question about filter

ryanstar87 Apr 23, 2011 06:07 PM

I have a standard 5 gallon rectangle tank and I got it off craigslist. It came with a marineland mini backpack filter. This seems to cause too much current for the fish but I don't want to switch to a different filter really. Anything I can do? Also what could I do to the intake to make sure fish don't get sucked to it. I lost a few fancy guppies that way.

Thanks!

There is almost never too much current for fish. What does the intake look like?

Intake just looks like a plastic grille with lines. The fish just seemed to have trouble staying afloat and it looked like it was too much flow.

Got a whisper filter today with intake control valve
