I have to dye my hair. How can I do this so it does not harm my Meyers?

I am not sure where your bathroom is in relation to your bird. I would move your bird into the farthest room from the bathroom you will be using if at all possible. If the cage is still relatively close than (and possibly even if not) I would keep the door closed while dying my hair and if you do not have a ventilation fan in the bathroom if you have one handy use a box fan or other fan while dying or depending on where you are located (or if you even have one ) open the window in the bathroom. I have used lightener on my hair with no problems while having birds but they are at the other end of the house and we do have a ventilation fan in the bathroom. I also make sure I have washed my hair a couple times before handling my birds afterwards even if that means washing it a couple times the same day/night.

Thanks for all your help! I am a new Meyers owner so I need alot of help. LOL I don't have a ventilation fan so I am going to close the door to the room she is in and block up the bottom of the door with a towel. Then I will try and air out the room when I am done. It is still quite cold here... but not too cold to open the window for a short period.
