My wife and I have a 10 year old cockatiel 'Zaire'. We are planning extended travel in 2012 and are purchasing a motorhome to facilitate traveling with our dog (who loves to travel) and Zaire who prefers to go with us then to be left behind with sitters. Zaire has gone on several overnight trips to friends homes with 4-10 hr travel times one way with seemingly no ill effects. We are looking for any suggestions specifically on any changes/modifications to the motor home that we should consider to make the travel easier on Zaire.
