Does your budgie have any favorite foods, maybe millet or a type of fruit etc that it will always eat? Try to entice him with his favorite food. Also contact your avian vet to see if he/she will see him.

You might also try a "mash" type of food. Maybe oatmeal cooked and then let cool until just warm not hot or a sweet potato cooked in the microwave until soft, then add a bit of apple or orange juice and a bit of cinnamon to make really soft and mushy again feed when warm not hot. Sometimes a warm food offered on the tip of a spoon will entice a bird to eat.

If your bird is ill there is not much help in enticing it to eat unless your vet can diagnose the problem. Sorry I couldn't offer more assistance.

Thanks. I'll do that tomorrow. And how do you think can he be ill or is it nirmal for budgies to have such things as not eating for 2 days??

My "educated guess" would be that he is ill. It is not normal for them to go for days without food. Usually they only do this when they are ill, although the illness could be from many different problems anything from a parasite or bacteria to virus, age, crop problems etc. I am not a vet, I am a certified avian specialist, with certification in ornithology and as a veterinary assistant, and I have worked with birds for many years so as I said it is not a diagnosis just an educated guess, LOL. I would't try to make any diagnosis on a bird just tell you what I have learned in years of experiece.

Ok if he doesn't start eating tomorrow, I'll call the vet. thanks
