Meyers Parrot

ladyamalara Mar 12, 2009 09:28 PM

I am going to be purchasing my first meyers parrot. I have done alot of research on them and feel up to the task. However one thing I was told by ONE person is that during mating season Meyers can become very noisy. Does anyone know if this is true???

Like on all birds I can't give you a 100% guaranteed correct answer. I can say that most seem to be more noisy when in season but personally even then I don't consider them to be an excessively noisy bird. Not on the level with a sun conure or the "alarm" sound of a ringneck or the loudness of a cockatoo etc but definitely more so than a cockatiel, budgie or possibly even a green cheeked conure. If you are living in an apartment or somewhere that noise may be a major issue than I might think twice but I do know several apartment renters that have meyers parrots and have never had complaints on noise.
