we just found our chicken, Pepper with a huge clump of feathers taken out of her top, it is red and some patches of skin are missing...she is not bleeding, how should we take care of her? any suggestions?

we just found our chicken, Pepper with a huge clump of feathers taken out of her top, it is red and some patches of skin are missing...she is not bleeding, how should we take care of her? any suggestions?
By now, she's either recovered or died. Sorry, I'm not good about keeping up with this board.
We find that rinsing injuries immediately with diluted Betadine helps. After that, we can see what we have to deal with. If it's minor, we just keep it cleaned with the betadine, if it's more than I feel I can deal with, it's off to the vet.
