Advice please

mark08 Jun 17, 2008 04:06 PM

Hi,

I have never kept chickens before and am due to take receipt of two birds next month. I have heard about chickens having to be inocuolated, particularly against Mareks and Newcastle disease. I would very much appreciate any advice on this issue for example, what exactly are these diseases, how do they affect the birds, do they just affect birds or are they transferable to humans, is there an ideal age the birds should be inoculated?

I expect that this is one of many questions that I will be asking over the coming months!

I appreciate any advice from you experts- Mark

I really don't know about the diseases but our chicks were vaccinated a couple of days after they hatched..
