Help. If a dove's band says NPA...

annabell_dami Sep 20, 2008 02:56 PM

What does that mean? It's a blue band around its neck and it says NPA along with a number. Thanks

Basically this means that they're a member of the National Pigeon Association. To be on the safe side you should give them a call because someone may be missing a bird!

A racing pigeon is basically a breed of pigeon or dove that is trained to fly fast and accurately. They generally breed and raise their young in nest boxes, like the one's described in the link below... hope that helped!
