My 8 y/o appednix had never been good tied. I've treid everything I can think of to get him to stand still while I'm brushing/tacking/cleaning his hooves. I've run out of ideas. Someone have one for me?

What you need to do is to start with the basic groundwork and earn his respect. By not standing still and not allowing you to touch where you want to touch, he is saying that he doesnt respect you. After you earn his respect, do some desencitizing exersizes with the approach and release method.
