How about a nice trail ride! Anyone? Please read!

Hi everyone,
well it's that time of year again. It's biting cold outside, the wind makes it worse, the horses are nice and fluffy, and the ground is hard in the mountains and squish in the flatlands. What better time than now to trail ride? (Don't answer that!)
Really though, I have been dying to go on a nice trail ride for over a year! I have the trailer, the tack, 6 horses to choose from, but no companions, no friends who can ride/have the time to ride at the same time, and no one who wants to go on a trail ride at all that has the facilities.
I really want to try to organize a nice trail ride, weekday or weekend, sometime in the Northern VA area. I live nearest to Skyline Drive/Shenandoah National Park/Sky Meadow State Park. Punch in Delaplane VA and if you're within 100 miles of that, give me a holler! Sky Meadow even has a nice bridle trail, and they have a public barn right at the entrance with parking lot and all the facilities you need to tack up, even turn the horses out for a few minutes to stretch their legs in a little mini paddock before saddling up.
Come on, it'll be fun!!! Reply to this post if interested!!! Heck I'll go to West VA too!!!

OK, I haven't been on a trail ride and I won't pretend I have <G>, but I'm reading Audrey Pavia's new book "Trail Riding," and I LOVE it. I'm about one third through it. And OH does it make me want to get out there. <G>

It is a lot of fun, no matter how fast or slow you go. I prefer to go slow just because all of my horses are young and you never know what's going to spook them, and I'd prefer to not have a dead sideways stop and get tossed! The best place to go is Grave's Mountain Lodge or really anywhere in the Appalachian mountains, ohhhhh it's soooooo pretty!!
