here are a few bad pics of the first new foals of 2006. I wish my pictures portrayed how good these two are instead we have good horses with a bad photographer. LOL

Oh my gosh.....they are so adorable!! I know with some of the pony mixes we have they can be skittish when young....how is the disposition of the foals of mini's? They look so calm....well let me say mom doesn't like the camera so much around here.

Mini foals are very docile and inqusitive. Normally within a few weeks we have them halter trained etc. Of course there are always an exception or two to that. last year we had a little demon with a capital D born and he was just a terror with biting and kicking etc. It took about 2 months to get him calmed down. But generally they are as docile and easy to work with as any large breed of horse. the best thing is when one kicks or bites it is a lot less serious than with a big horse. We rode performance horses ( cutting & barrel horse) but as we got a little older I wanted something that was easier to handle so we really got into the miniature full tiem. Now my cutting horse ( 23 years old) and my wifes barrel horse ( 39 years old ) are living the life of leasure and are retired. they deserve it LOL.

Oh look how cute they are!!!! Now I want a Mini... now wait, we've got too many horses already who are due to foal.
Our crop here starts late March, ends early May. Hopefully, we won't have snow down - tho' we are snowing and spitting ice right now. The horses decided they didn't want to go out in this muck - we are having a lazy day here, hanging out in the stalls.
I understand completely on the Too Many Horses statement. we have 4 big horses and and 103 of these little guys. I think I remember someone saying you can't have just one, but wait that may have been about potatoe chips. LOL I will keep posting pics and you can live vicariously though them.
