My 12 y.o. Morgan alpha mare whinnies and is totally non focused on her job when I take her to a show with one of her barn mates. She does not pasture with this other mare and in fact bullies her when she was out with her. they were trailered to the event with each other. thanks, DG

Does she do this when she is alone at shows? Sounds like she is just nervous at shows, which is pretty common. Have you tried any calming agents before a show?

I have not tried any calming agents. She is better when I have gone with another mare who is also more alpha and will not whinny back to her. Do you have suggestions on calming agents? I have some Rescue Remedy but it's probably old. thanks, Dinah

Hi.....Nothing like a stressed out horse at a show, which of course makes us stressed out. There are a few I like or have heard around about that are good.

Rescue Remedy
Clear Thinking
Calm and Cool

State Tack carrys them all.....here is the link to there. Let us know how it goes.
