I bought Sniper in Oct. and just thought the rain rot was mud cause he hadn't been messed with at all since June, and the pasture he was in had some swampy spots... I have since figured it out, but now it's too cold to give him a bath... (gotta love Western PA)... Would the rain rot bein bad on his back be the reason he's not getting much of a winter coat? because were his skin is nice, he's got a nice coat... also, I don't want to groom it out of him completely because its getting colder and I don't want a bald horse, so any ideas to make sure this doesn't get worse till spring when I can give him an iodine bath and groom him good...

get you a bottle of mtg. squirt som on infected area and rub it in good. repeat this once a day for about a week, it will kill the fungus that causes rainrott.. i,ve done this on mine before and it worked well... you should notice new hair within a week....
