My Husband and I have Recently Become the 'foster parents' of the 2 pigmy goats that are at our local boarding Stable. One of the goats seems to be losing some weight and not eating like he should be. I called the Vet and Talked to him about it he said for me to give him Raisins with his Normal Feed, Something about it Increasing his appitite.
This isn't the time for him to be losing weight, not this close to tghe cold Season. which worries me that he won't have enough meat on his bones to keep him warm.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Has he been wormed lately...pygmy's are notorious for having weight loss due to cocci and worms. Just a thought since they were in a boarding stable.

What should be used to worm a pygmy goat? I have just adopted one. She seems to be in good coat, weight, etc., but I have no previous history on her. She has a partial bag, so we don't know is she has a kid this last year or is expecting now. Any advice is helpful. She is living in our extra horse stall with lots of hay and water and loving the attention of everyone coming to visit with apples and carrots and slices of bread. She's a very sweet goat.

There are so many different types of wormers....mostly we use an Ivermectin.

Ivomec

For pregnant goats I like :

Molly's Herbals Worm System

This is a great website with all the wormers listed:
