Need help identifying this thing...

This has baffled me and my wife. We are finding these in only our bathroom and at least 1 a day...they are always alone. They are about the length of your pinky finger nail. The little head pops out, and drags the whole "pod". I have opened one and did not find eggs, dung, or anything except space...

The head is about 3-4 segments and after that the body is completely transparent.

We live in the San Diego, CA area...

It appears to be a Case Bearing Cloth Moth larvae (Tinea pellionella). Not a good thing to have around as they will damage clothes/items made of wool or similar natural fibers.
