looks like a crane fly or midge w/ its legs folded forward. that's my guess anyway.

caught a couple of these resting on the wall over different days. The thing is their legs are -always- stretched in alignment to their bodies, in a straight line.

Im just worried its a harmful insect.

It's a Diptera (the flies) for sure. Harmful? No. I think the most damage that critter could do is buzz around your head and annoy you.
