Those water crystals.

clffdvr Jun 29, 2009 12:37 PM

The business that sold me the White-Knee'd sent about two teaspoons of small white rocks. He told me to soak them and then feed them out to the roaches. I had no idea of what they really were, so I kind of arrogantly dismissed the idea. But a couple days ago I found the stuff under a pile of papers, and put them in water. Boy was I surprised. They drank all the water I had given them, so I gave them a lot more, and now I have these water crystals for my roaches instead of standing water. That is a very positive change in the tank.

Question: Do the roaches actually eat the crystals? If so, it just means that I will have to get a supply of them.

Those crystals seem pretty cool but i've never heard of those things before. I have no idea how they work. You'll probably have to watch them drink from it and see if they eat them.
