I was vacuuming this morning and went onto a rug and dragged a spider right off the rug. It is not too big, but looks like a tarantula spiderling.
I have an Oklahoma Brown I have had for nearly 10 years that I caught here locally; picture of her below.
After I dragged it off the rug onto the carpet (it blended in with the rug so I didn't see it), I noticed it and stopped vacuuming. I was curious and got it onto a piece of paper and went upstairs and looked at it under a loupe (I am a clockmaker so I have one).
I noticed the similarity of the body and realized I might have clipped a very very young Oklahoma Brown. Here are pics of the little one; it is missing one of its legs.
Any ideas as to if it is an Oklahoma Brown. I caught mine out in the country about 20 miles from here and this would be a surprise to me.
Unfortunately, after some time this little spider curled up and died. I guess I will have to keep and eye out for others if this is an Oklahoma Brown. We moved here in this location about 4 months ago. Since it has gotten warm I have a tons of Brown Recluses which I have to eradicate on a daily basis. I don't want to spray any bug spray around here it this is one. Hate to take them along with the fiddle backs.
I know this is not a wolf or jumping spider. Any ideas?
If you need more pics I can take them.
