A golden moth to identify...

pilonm Jul 24, 2009 09:25 AM

Hello all,

Here are 2 pictures of a little moth photographied on the wall of my house at Sherbrooke, Quebec (near Vermont USA) last September 2008. It looks like he has a golden sheet over its body

I think it is a Noctuidae from the genus Papaipema but I'm not sure...

Any idea about its identification?

Thank you very much for your help

That is Papaipema cataphracta. You were quite close.

I'm impressed

Cheers!
