I haven't been very active on this forum so I figured I'd give it a try and see the response. Here are a few of the eggsacs we pulled the last couple weeks.

Avicularia avicularia:

They're turning dark now so they should be molting to 2nd instar any day now.

A very disappointing Chilobrachys fimbriatus eggsac. It was tightly rolled and didn't look so good. It was completely infertile. Next year we'll have more girls ready to go so hopefully I will have better success with this species then.

Heteroscodra maculata:

3rd P. regalis eggsac of 2011 is....half successful. I think the male is to blame. The first two eggsacs he sired were 100% failures with no slings making it to 2nd instar. His third was only half successful. He's the only common factor. Needless to say that male is retired and we have a new one to take his spot.

She was older so I wasn't expecting much, but I was hoping for at least a few more of her slings to hold back.

If she lives long enough, maybe next time.
