How to keep my cat inside?

pins2danes Oct 10, 2009 11:25 AM

Hello, I have a real problem. I have a crosseyed siamese mix that I rescued and spayed about 2 years ago. She never went outside until just a few months ago. I have a dog door that my dogs can't go without and she had figured out she can also go through it too. I have bought all kinds of deterant sprays and double sided tape. I have tried to scare her when outside, spray her with water, etc. Nothing phases her it seems. I have always been against outside cats so this is really bothering me. She is he sweetest most loveable cat ever and is so friendly to everyone or at least she used to be before she started going outside. Now she has been getting stuck on my house roof and going out in the front yard somehow (She always just stayed in the backyard) and if I cant figure out a way to keep her inside I am going to have to rehome her (I can't keep her locked in my room forever) which and would be very hard for me and heartbraking. If someone can help me that would be so great! Thanks!

They make doggy doors that come with collars and only the pets with the collars can go out the door. It is to keep strange animals out of the house basically but would work with this too. The cat could not use the door and the dogs could. Good luck and let us know.
