Coco-----My baby

beegee09 Dec 26, 2009 09:34 AM

She was a stray that we took in 11 years ago, a small, elegant, moody siamese mix. She started losing weight about 2 months ago. The vets couldn't find anything wrong. Christmas morning she began to lose her balance, became incontinent, couldn't keep food down. At 3 this morning she began moaning. We tried to comfort her and she calmed down but couldn't walk. I took her to a 24 hour emergency clinic, thankfully in the next town. My wife stayed in the car, couldn't come in. The vet gave her a sedative. I spent about 5 minutes with her alone, then the vet came back with the final shot. She went away with me saying into her ear" Go seep now, baby. Coco, Coco, Daddy loves you, thank you for being my friend, sweetie, Coco, Coco, go seep". So thats that. She didn't freeze to death with no food in her belly, wasn't killed by a car on some lonely road. Pass on, pretty lady' we'll never forget you. Bill

For 11 years she gave love and got love. She died still loved in her Daddy's arms. A good life lived, happy and cared for. I am sorry for your loss but she is at the Bridge where she will wait for you, healthy and happy forever.

Hi Bill,

Your post brught tears to my eyes. I am so sorry for your loss.

You are so right though.......Coco was loved and had a wonderful life with you and your wife, and many stray cats are not so fortunate. She was a gift and you gave her one by giving her a peaceful end when it was time to let go.

Please let me know if you and your wife are interested in attending a Pet Loss Chat. There is nothing more difficult than the loss of a precious baby and it helps to share with others who understand.

Take Care,
PHKitkat
