we have 3 cats and one of them has been prescribed buprenorphine .3mg oral. ever since she has been on this drug the other cats are hissing and growling at her as if she is a new cat or something.. they've been together for 14 years. are the other cats getting a contact high from her? because they are definitly very hostile toward her now and they always got along just fine before this medicine

i forgot to say she has been on this drug for 2 days now..and she was only away at the vets for a few hours.

Sorry to be so late in responding to this post. Sounds like your other cats are responding to the scents from the vets office that your cat picked up while she was there. This is a very common occurance with my cats. If it happens again, you might take a towel and rub it on the 'scented' cat, then on the other cats to exchange scents so that they all smell basically the same.
