Can a cat water fountain make a differen

I read this article telling me a cat water fountain will make my kitten healthier and happier. Is this true? I mean, are they worth the money?

I am not sure about healthier and happier. Some cats prefer the fountains some don't like them. I have 22 cats, I bought one fountain and it lasted about 2 days before they literally tore it apart and flooded the kitchen. I have several water bowls around the house, I keep fresh water in them and refill them twice a day and have had no problem with dehydrated cats in close to 30 years of having cats.

Hi There,

I think this article is stretching it a bit. Fountains are good if they help a cat to drink more, but they are far from necessary. The important thing is to always have fresh water available to your cat, and it's good to feed some canned food as well for the moisture content. Cats will always be prone to kidney failure regardless.

I will be moving soon and I'm thinking of getting a fountain or two, because I have 2 blind cats and I think it will help them to learn their way around the new house. Plus I have a cat that likes to play with water and I think she will enjoy a fountain.

Take care,

PHKitKat, what fountain do YOU think is best? I have been using the regular drinkwell and my cats like it but after 2 or so years the motor gives out I am bidding on Ebay for a new one but don't know if I should get the Platinum drinkwell or the 360?

My boys don't care but My BIG girl does not seem to understand how to drink running water.

I do have SEVERAL bowls throughout the house so they can drink where they want but my ONE boy has blocked 3x and I am hoping a fountain will get him to drink more water and both boys do enjoy drinking from the tap.

Hi There,

I have heard that the 360 is the way to go. In fact, I am planning to get at least one of them for my own furkids soon.

Hope you find a good deal on eBay. That's most likely where I will get mine also!

Take care,

PHKitkat
