Where is everyone?

teganslaw Jun 01, 2009 10:48 AM

It's been several months since any new post have been added. everything has been going OK here. Both Star and Quentin are doing well. I was impressed that they laid down together for a few minutes. It didn't last (they started fighting after awhile) but at least they tried. They never even attempt to share things.

The hospital I work has been cutting staffing because of budget. I work in the dietary dept., and that's one of the first departments to cut back. They aren't laying off, but no overtime and if anyone leaves, they aren't being repaced. The hospital goes by point status. I'm .08 which is 64 hours every two weeks. I don't get more than that, which is fine for me. Since I'm on 12 hour shifts, I have more days off. One day I work only four hours so I can make my point.

Been playing World of Warcraft alot. I'm up to level 72. It took a year to get this high a level. I can go all the way up to 80.
I hope that everyone else is doing OK.

Ellen

Hi Ellen!

It sure has been quiet on here. I have been meaning to post from time to time, but traffic has slowed so much on here.

I took Pookey to the vet about a week ago. He is doing really well. He'll be 18 in a couple months. Six months ago, they thought he was starting early kidney failure from his numbers just outside of normal. Well, this time, his numbers were back in the normal range, all of them... I am sure the other shoe will drop soon, but at 18, he has no medical issues! Just eatin', sleepin', and poopin' like the best of them...

Long hours at work. We are very short staffed. When we lose folks, it can take a year or two to replace them with the hiring freezes, etc...

I am enjoying FATE. A friend loaned me his World of Warcraft Battle Chest (with WOW and The Burning Crusade), but I haven't yet uploaded it and given it a whirl. When I was in Texas last week visiting family, my step-father is eagerly awaiting SIMS 3. He showed me SIMS 2 and the online advertisements for SIMS 3 showing features, and I think I might graduate from FATE to SIMS. I visit again in three months, so I will let him work out the kinks and show me some tips and tricks since I've never played any version of it before I decide to buy it.

I am here. I keep checking in but nobody is here!

BTW TAMMY - Pookie IS in early kidney failure. Start him on a lower protein and phoshorus diet NOW!

My Missy did that for about a year and THEN she went into kidney insufficiencies and NOW she is in full blown CRF.

Vet told me when her numbers were going up and down but still normal her kidneys were starting to shut down.

Early prevention is the key and BEST of luck!

Thanks for your care and concern, Heidi!

Pookey has been on a special kidney diet (Science Diet KD) since Stanley started on it when they were both 14 and Stanley was given the diagnoisis of early kidney failure. The food helped maintain his kidney functon and steady numbers for two years until I lost him at age 16 of CRF and complications that came on pretty fast.

I kept Pookey on the special diet, which is one reason his kidney's have done so well as he turns 18. He's been on the special diet for four years now... I know the kidneys will be what gets him one day, but, I've had him on the special diet for four years now, which hopefully has helped extend his life.

All fine here. Like everyone else kept checking every day but no one was writing anyting. Work is busy and like everywhere else, if someone quits the position isn't filled. At least we have not had any lay-offs or anything like that. Furballs are all fine, fat and sassy.

Same here, everyone's well at the moment it's just way hot already. Either that or I've become a total wimp. Probably the latter! Had wondered about getting a thread going but couldn't even think of anything to write about. Seems like everything's in a rut for now. I just barely keep up with what has to be done! Stay well!
