We're getting a nice winter wonderland of snow out here today (Northern Maryland). Started last night (Friday) and goes thru Sunday morning... Supposed to get 1-2 feet.

Bad news for retail and messes up some of the Holiday party plans I had this weekend (annual Christmas Dinner party for tonight moved to tomorrow), but does make all of us stop and look in awe at a beautiful snow covered morning (before the plows, traffic, and all start mucking it up and we have to start digging out).

Good day to wrap up gifts. Cards are sent, gifts are bought... All I really have left is wrapping and some baking. Will make cranberry bread, pumpkin bread, and chocolate-peanut butter fudge about mid-week to pass out Christmas Eve/Christmas Day.

I opened the window blinds this morning and Pookey visably started. His head jerked back when he looked out as if to say, "Holy Cow, what happened!" He's all snuggled in his warm cat bed on the couch under a furnace vent, LOL.

Hope this finds all of you pretty much done with most of your Holiday prep and enjoying the day. It was forced on us -- or we'd all be out running around getting last minute things done, LOL!

All is done here shopping wise. We also have a little snow, fresh and new today. Only have wrapping left and presents are stacked in the garage out of the reach of furry paws. My jeep had nothing better to do than die on me last Saturday and I do mean she died. Blew her engine.....5000 to 6000 repair, so was forced to buy a new mode of transportation. I am very lucky, my cousin's son owns the Dodge/Chrysler dealership that his grandfather, my uncle, owned before his death two years ago. His staff pronounced my loved jeep dead and after test driving about 9 cars, I purchased a 2008 Pacific Blue Kia Sorento. She only has 20,000 miles on her and of course, I got a good deal with a "family" discount. So that helped. Of course, I am still trying to get over the fact that I had spent 600.00 in repairs on the old jeep before she died and then paid 200 for her tow to the dealership. So money is just a little tight at the worst possible time for it to be tight. Charlee and Spottie are beginning to get over their loss of their littermate, ShyRaven in November and are finally acting more like themselves. Not sure that is so good as Charlee can be quite the brat. Although the other cats are not thrilled it is nice to see him being a brat to them again. Mostly all is fine here and I hope all is fine with all of you. Merry Christmas to all and have a safe and happy holiday.

Well, right now the snow is winding down. Got about 14", looks like 14'. Presents are wrapped with help from HRH. Kasha loves to help wrap, laying on whatever I need or am looking for. Hard to do it with a 14 lb coon on the paper! Poor Brad is still a scardy cat. He hides under the bed all day. If I drag him out at night he loves to cuddle. Think he is still afraid of bangy noises in the house. Told him all the construction is done, till next year, but he does not believe me. Feel sorry for the poor little guy. I want my cat back!!

I am very sorry to hear of your loss of ShyRaven. I am glad Charlee and Spottie are acting normal and you don't have to worry about them. Pookey took much longer than I expected (6-8 months) to recover after losing his littermate Stanley (but he was MUCH older) and it was rough to watch him along with my own feelings.

We wound up with 2 feet of snow here. I dug myself and two elderly neighbors' cars out. I am too out of shape for that, LOL.

I think it helps that they have each other and the other cats too. Both are still over grooming a bit and Spottie still sleeps on the kitchen counter and won't go near the couch where he used to sleep with Shy. I feel sorry for him at night, sometimes I hear him crying and I know it is because he wants her to come sleep with him. But both are back to eating normally and that is good. Only an inch of snow here

We're having a quiet Christmas, just my husband, me and the cats. I have Christmas off this year and we plan to have a small dinner and take it easy tomorrow. It will be nice to have the day off.

We missed the storm last week, only got about an inch of snow. Today we're getting sleet and freezing rain. I'm glad that everything is done and I don't have to go anywhere. The rain is suppose to continue through tomorrow with temperatures in the mid thirties. So it would be a mess traveling.

Hope that everyone has a very nice Christmas, Hanukkah or however you celebrate.

Ellen
