Thought I'd check in. It has been quiet here.

I have had a rough time of it lately, my Mom passed away last month unexpectedly (at the age of 67).

Coming around from that slowly and thought I'd see what is going on here.

House is very quiet, but I haven't yet felt like getting another cat or pair of cats.

Start school back up in May with my next class (University of Maryland online for my Bachelors). That'll keep me busy -- eats up the weekends with homework.

Beautiful weather here. Flowers and blooming trees just amazing this time of year.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother's passing. Both of my parents are gone, so I know how rough it can be.

I'm trying to get used to the new forum. They're changing the name to "Connected by Pets." where you can post blogs. Seems to be similar to facebook.

I thought that spring was here, but our recent temperatures have been in the 40's. Suppose to get up to near 70 this weekend, though.

I've been working overtime these past weeks filling in for people on vacation. It's tiring, but the paycheck will be nice.

Good to see you posting. Take care and try to check in sometimes. (I should talk since I haven't posted much myself.) I'll try to be better about that.

I'll have to check it out. I see a link to click to "follow this user on Connected by Pets... Is that what you are talking about? Other than that link, I see no difference in the format of Cathobbyist...

Ellen, I'm not sure what posting 'blogs' means. I was, however, thrilled to see my KatyKatt's baby photo still up.

What happened to all of the other forums? I noticed that we still have "Cats Let People Chat" and "Ask the Vet" but not many others. Did they discontinue them or am I just missing them?

I see that we are on at the same time, Tammy! This new board is going to take a little time getting used to. How long have we been on these boards, Tammy? KatyKatt was just a baby so it would have to have been at least 12 years because she's 12 now.

Tammy, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother's death. It's so difficult to lose a parent. You've been through a lot lately. If there is any way that I can help, please feel free to ask.

Thank you, Ruby. One day at a time right now. It isn't quite as sharp, but I do dread Mother's Day in a few days.

I hope this finds you well. Just now seeing how the boards have changed and finding my way around.
