Hi my name is senel, we have five cats and everything was ok until my father-in-law passed away. Out of our five cats Sweatpea stayed downstairs with my father-in-law while the other cats stayed upstairs. Shortly after when we moved Sweatpea upstairs because a lot of things had to be done she started peeing and pooing in random places like counter tops and kitchen floor as well as the top of the fridge. Then Ladybird started spraying specifically on the stove always the stove. Ladybird is spayed as all the cats have been spayed/neutered in our husehold. It is getting to the point where they both have to be confined to carriers and cages unless they are outside. Do you have advice for us because the next step will unfortunately be a shelter for Sweatpea and Ladybird and Cookie. Because Ladybird and Cookie are from the same litter and are quite dependent on one another.

Move Sweetpea back downstairs. Cats are territorial, and when the fifth cat moved in he wasn't happy with the situation and then neither was the other. If you move him back downstairs and the situation doesn't improve, you may have to keep those that are urinating inappropriately confined in their own separate rooms all the time and don't let them have contact with the other cats.
