Using Omega 3 Fatty Acids and cancer

BlueEyedStorm Dec 10, 2009 10:03 PM

I would like to know about using Omega 3 Fatty Acids for preventing and curing cancer. I have read about Omega 3's curing cancer. I read about a dog who was diagnosed with Leukemia of the bone marrow and was fed 3 tablespoons of flaxoil and cottage cheese daily from March 19, '99 to April 13th 1999 and his blood tests revealed that the cancer was gone!
Most times I give my cats cod liver oil for good health.

I am curious to know the doses I should give them because I have also read that cats can over dose on I think it's vitamin A, which is in my product. My product says on the front,"Cod Liver Oil, Super 1000mg." On the Supplement facts it says this:
For one softgel;
*Vitamin A (from cod liver oil) 2000IU (40%)
*Vitamin D (from cod liver oil)250IU (63%)
*Vitamin E natural (d-Alpha Tocopherol) 10IU (33%)
Omega 3 Fatty Acids (From Cod liver oil) 240Mg,
consisting of:
EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) 90MG
DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) 120MG
ALA (Alpha-Linolenic Acid) 20MG
DPA (Docosapentaenoic Acid) 10MG
Then for suggested use it say,"Take one or more softgels daily, AT MEALTIME."

So this suggested use is for humans and I don't know how much to give them. Do you have any suggestions?
Is there a difference in dosages for preventing cancer and for curing it? I mean, if one of my cats had cancer, would I give them more?

One a day should be fine for your cat. Use more if treating cancer.

Ok so usually daily, I split up one 1000MG capsule of the Cod liver oil between my two cats. Is this ok for preventative health?

And if my cats had either cancer, or inflammation somewhere, would it be twice that dose? So for instance, would it be one capsule each daily?

One capsule daily for each would be better. The only downside of cod liver oil is that it may make the stool loose. If that is the case, cut back on the cod liver oil.

So I just want to be clear. You are saying that for preventative measures, I would do as I was doing, which is taking the 1 pill and splitting it between the two cats, that being 500M MG each of cod liver oil?

And if one of my cats had cancer or had an inflammatory disorder, then I would give one cat a full capsule of cod liver oil, that being 1000 MG of cod liver oil daily?

No, I am saying to give each cat the contents of one softgel each once a day.
