Two symptoms and what they might mean

quill Feb 24, 2010 04:23 PM

Hi, I was wondering if you might know what these two symptoms mean.
1.) Itchy skin. Skin is not dry or flaking. It looks normal except that the pet will scratch in one place, then another, then another. No mites, no fleas. I wondered if it was symptomatic of another health problem, ie, heart disease.
2.) The pet wishes to sleep with the head always lower than the rest of the body, ie, the head hanging over the edge of a sofa, etc. I wondered if, in some way it improved blood flow to the heart and was also symptomatic of heart disease. If not, what, in your opinion could it be symptomatic of. No other symptoms of heart disease, ie, panting, etc. Thank you, in advance, for your reply.

General itchiness may be due to a nutrient deficiency. That the cat lies with his head lower than his body is not an indication of any problem, as far as I know.
