Time for Simba's 'lion cut'.......

gocatgo Jun 12, 2011 04:36 AM

It's that time of the year again. Another lion cut for Simba. I was lucky this year as when I took him to the vet for a booster on his distemper and rabies, which are required by the groomer, I found that his last year's certificate was still good so no booster this year. That's the only drawback on taking him to the groomers, getting the booster. However, there's no way that he can go without his annual lion cut because no matter how much I comb and brush him, he eventually gets mats somewhere on his body before the year is over.

It was hot the day we took him to the groomers and he came home smelling so sweet. The other cats didn't like his scent however so there was a lot of hissing going on, especially from KatyKatt. Since that day, he's been hiding under the covers on my bed because it's really cooled down in Iowa this past week.

Just thought I'd let you know that Simba is looking good again and all three remaining cats, Samantha, Katrina and KatyKatt are all doing well too. Simba is the same age as Paula...14, Sammi is 13 and Katrina and KatyKatt are 12. Not too much playing going on anymore. They prefer to eat and sleep. They love it that I've retired and can spend more time with them.

Hi Tammy! Good to see you again. I hope that all is going well with you. It is soooo hot in Iowa today. I'm sure that you remember hot summer days in Iowa.

Simba is my super affectionate kitty and has to sleep snuggled up to me every night. Purring his little heart out, of course. I was getting both Simba and KatyKatt sleeping with me, Simba on one side and KatyKatt on the other but for some reason, she chose another favorite spot, her cat bed. But then again, Katy is my desk kitty. She has to be with me while I'm on the computer, taking up half of the desk, of course.

David scored pretty high on the exam and is scheduled for an interview in a couple of days. Yay!

Have a happy 4th!!!

Good to hear from you! Homework keeps me locked down on the weekends (working on my Bachelor's Degree online at home). I don't get online as much as I'd like.

What grade is Paula in now? I am almost afraid to ask. I still picture her very young from the early photos.

I contemplated getting a goldfish recently, I am just not ready to get another cat yet...

I almost forgot -- My Iowa parents who have spent 70 years in Iowa are moving permanently to Arizona. They love it there. Now THAT'S hot! And don't give me that dry head business. 115 degrees is hot, dry or wet...

Oh, lucky them. I'd love to move to Arizona but my children and grandchildren are here, so in Iowa I will stay. Many of my postal coworkers who are retired are living in Phoenix now. A few moved to Florida. No state taxes or cold and snow in either state. Can't say the same about Iowa.

Paula will be starting the 9th grade this year. She's 14 and has a 3.8 GPA. She has a babysitting job for the summer and enjoys earning her own money which she spends on clothes and makeup. I'll send you an email with a pic of both David and Paula so you can see how much they've grown.

I had a fat black goldfish once who's name was Bubbles. Cats are a lot more fun though.

I'd love to see an updated photo of David and Paula!

Thanks!

I'd love to see a pic

Hello BKDogWalker...Here's a picture of Simba but it's not recent. He still looks the same though even though he's older.

Here's another picture of Simba. The first is with Paula in 2001 and the second is with Samantha in 2004. Although older, he still looks the same. Paula, on the other hand, is now a lovely teenager who wouldn't dream of putting her sweater on Simba like she did in this picture.

I love the lion cut. We did this to one of our cats and he loved it.
