Best way to give homeopathics

quill Oct 30, 2011 09:25 AM

Hi, I've been giving homeopathic to pets for years and have
always found it more difficult to give the pellets than the liquid. The soft pellets are easy to give and they dissolve quickly. But there are some, like Apis, that are as hard as
rock. I've tried crushing them between sheets of white paper and tapping them into the mouth and wonder if that's the best
way. Some suggest dissolving the pellets in water and then
giving the water but the pellets take ages to dissolve and I
never know how much water to dissolve them in. Also, it is suggested for fastest assimilation to place the pellets under the tongue or the pouch at the side of the cheek and let them dissolve but that's almost impossible to do with a cat. What is the best way to give these hard pellets? Thanks for info.

There are no homeopathic or holistic vets within 375 miles from where I live and I can't ask this of the conventional vet I have. I've decided to try Apis and Arsenicum of the homeopathics mentioned on this link http://health.hpathy.com/pleurisy-symptoms-treatment-cure.asp

and I don't know if it's possible to give one, and then some hours later to give the other or just to stick with the one for several days and see. Arsenicum is better if the fluid accumulation is serious - according to the last removal of fluid from around the lungs, in 6 weeks it collected 4 oz which is 1 Tbl every 5 1/2 days. Apis, they say, is good for painful asthmatic respiration. My cat has asthmatic croupiness(from mucus and phlegm) and wheezing if the Flovent and Prednisolone isn't given but the respiration isn't painful. I have the 30C potency in both. Pellets.

I've started my cat on Arsenicum Album, 30c, 2 pellets crushed and tapped into the mouth every 8 hours. I hope this isn't too much. My cat is now lightly sneezing every couple of hours(like there's something allergy in the air, although I've been running the hepa air purifier for months) whereas he wasn't before.

It is easiest to give powder to a cat, as they tend to spit out the pellets. To make a powder, put a pellet on a spoon, take a matching spoon, and crush the pellet between them. Then pour the powder into the cat's mouth.
