AKs do NOT intergrade with Florida Kings

The range of the Florida King does not even come close to the Apalachicola region. In fact, Eastern Kingsnakes surround the region. The FL King idea was an old theory and it has been proven that they have nothing to do with AKs. Breeders used to cross AKs with FL Kings as that was the old thought. So you now have countless folks who think they have AKs when they really have crosses/hybrids.

yep!,........that is very correct. As you already know all too well, there are (and have been for many years)COUNTLESS captive-bred crossed/hybridized snakes of ALL TYPES offered in the hobby as very specific species/ssp. that aren't even CLOSE to being what they are 'said' to be. It's a sad reality of the times, and is due to all the careless breeders out there today that only care about producing 'serpents' instead of genuine forms. It's too bad more people don't bother(or care)to research and learn about the natural ranges and subspecies BEFORE wanting to be a 'breeder'.
