I'm thinking about ordering a boaphile cage for a central American boa, but I'm confused about which option I should go with for the belly heat.
The model I'm interested in is a 421D
I have had boaphile cages since 2005 and the heat has performed like the day they arrived. They have always had snakes in them so to put it plainly, they have been on and working for about 9 to 11 years. Straight. When I purchased my first 16 four foot cages, knowing I was keeping boas, Jeff talked me into using double heat in the four foot cages. It was more expensive but I have never regretted that decision. They are awesome cages and never once leaked, cracked, bent or failed in any way, shape or form. Good luck. Mike
Thank You for the info. I'm a bit confused on which heating option I should go with, they offer x1, x1.5 and x2 heating. I think the Under Cage Heat X 1.5 would be the best option but I don't know for sure.
Sorry. I should have explained that better. Jeff talked me into 2X heat which is what we refer to as double heat. In other words half of your four foot cage will be heated. It's about preference but again it's a decision I'm happy I made. Mike
If you live in the tropics, the 1X heat would be fine. Otherwise, my advice is to get the 2X heat. As long as you properly control the temperature, the 2X option will work in almost any ambient environment within reason.
