Hiking on a trail today near Big Bear Lake and came upon this Southern Pacific rattlesnake eating a tree squirrel just off the side of the trail. Sat down and watched the entire process. Epic.

Wow, great sighting. On the sunny side of the lake they can be very lightly colored like that one. Some can be really dark too.
