Very cool! I used vermiculite rather than perlite as an incubation medium this year, and don't think I'll be going back. Not only is vermiculite much nicer to handle (perlite can make a nails-on-chalkboard sound/feel) but the hatchlings seem to enjoy burrowing in it.
