can someone identify these two snakes?

I was told they were mexican gopher snakes but suspect that is not the case since I dont think there is a mexican gopher snake..Maybe pine or mix?

Pituophis deppei

Not 100% sure about the subspecies, but I'm leaning towards the nominate form (Pituophis deppei deppei).

Usually referred to as the Mexican Pine Snake, but trivial names are of no importance, really.

Basically is the cooler temp requirements the same for both the d.deppei and the d.jani ? Is there a way to differentiate the two?

Im picking them up on Sunday.
My basement runs around 70-72 so would just a heat pad set to 85 or should I heat the ambient temps too?

Thx so much I know this board is not very active like the old days.

Requirements aren't any different, as far as I know. They actually do like to bask, as much as they need to cool down. If the terrarium is large enough, and well ventilated, maintaining an adequate heat gradiënt should be easy. By doing so, you can feed them regular sized food items once a week, without ever having any regurgitation issues.
