I'm working on a personal project applying a digital asset tool to organize digitized photos, scans, etc. of early film ephemera. I'd rather not reinvent the wheel. Is there a taxonomy or controlled vocabulary in use for describing such material? Anything agreed upon by libraries, museums, archives?

Any help will be apprecited.
