Glad I found this forum. A friend of mine almost stepped on this snake near his home. In Bala Cynwyd Pennsylvania, USA. This is south-eastern PA, Philadelphia metro area.
When I try to blow up the head I think I can make out vertical pupils which makes me believe this is one of the viper varities native to PA. However others are saying it is water snake. It was found on the front porch of the house.
