Hi all!
After such a long time without a new post, I hardly expect someone reads this one, but still...
My request is as follows: what is the best place/best time of the year to observe Coluber (Masticophis) taeniatus, or other striped whipsnakes?
Thank you in advance for any reply!
Kind regards,
Benjamin

... ha 1st post here in some time. pandemics gonna drive us all back ?
Anyway, if u'r still out n about ... the stripers are best fd. in spring, deserts in april, may on the coastal side & mojave. In az the sonoran stripers also have a period of activity w/ the summer rains.
The stripers invariably are in rocky sites, the coachwhips own the less rocky, even sandy terrain. All "whipsnakes" seem to need brushy areas.
Theres a subforum here on ks that is worth a view.
