Wrinkly baby ball

jmsandlin Jun 10, 2019 05:44 PM

Hello,
So I would love a little input. I have a baby albino spider ball python that I got about a 3-4 weeks ago. I was having trouble getting him to eat but did finally get him to take one on Saturday. My question is that his body looks wrinkly and I was wonder if anyone knew what that could mean. I’m not sure if it’s from his refusing to eat. It’s not his skin that’s wrinkled, it’s like the muscles under the skin. Hopefully I’ll get the picture to upload correctly. He also has some random dented scales but he is pretty active so that could be due to exploring his tank. He’s only about a foot long so he’s definitely young.

When did you get this baby ball and how long has he gone without eating? Is he drinking? Since he started eating this Saturday i'd suggest to make sure he gets plenty of water and once he starts feeding regularly he should be okay because it just sounds like he hasn't eaten/drank for a while. I would recommend trying to feed him again soon but make sure it's not too big for him, try and feed him something smaller more often until he eats regularly. Good luck.
