Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and want to provide some back history before I proceed to possibly diarrhea issue,may be connected.

I purchased an adult (4-5 yrs old)rosy boa male from a locally owned pet store August 1st.
The pet shop had poor husbandry, no hides for the snake, not enough substrate, and a small, flimsy Tupperware dish for water. I assume the snake just knocked it over any time he went to drink.
4 days after I had the snake home I realized he had a mite infestation and was fairly dehydrated.
I treated both and he seemed to bounce back well enough.
Today I found what I can only assume is diarrhea in his tank. (Picture included)
He ate an adult mouse on the 21st, has had completely normal poops afterward.
Is this possibly parasites, or something else the mites may have passed on to him?

For his husbandry; he's in a 20g long with hides on both warm and cool side. Warm side is 88-89°, cool side is 75-76°
He does get live fed, only because that is what the previous owner had fed him all his life and he has stubbornly refused FT.
Any insight into if this is, in fact, diarrhea and if I need to worry or set up a vet appointment etc.

Too much water can result in loose stools, as can other things. As long as the rosy is digesting and not regurgitating, then I would not worry about parasites. Treat the mites and keep the cage dry. Under tank heat, a thermostat and a substrate of aspen or paper works well. If you have a screen top then you can have a water dish in there all the time. But if using a tub, only have water in there when the snake has not fed recently.
