Some use a dirt/sand mix; I have use Aspen (shredded) with ESU Jungle Mix in the Hide box with a layer of Moss for a humidity area. This allows me easy clean up. The burrow (hide box) stimulates underground nests while the Aspen is more arid desert without the worry of sand ingestion.
