any idea about a lizard species

fakehappiness Dec 11, 2003 07:59 PM

i recently purchased a lizard from a local pet store.
right now he is about 6 inches from nose to base of tail.
the people at the pet store didnt seem to know much about it and i have yet to find a picture resembling it on the net anywhere. he is very deep green with a fairly short tail (about 5-6 in.) he has a large crest on the back of his neck that is about 1 in. tall and 1 1/2 in long large spines top the whole crest. he has brown eyes but around the brown there is bright blue if he looks far enough to the side to be able to see it. also has large ridges over each eye. if anyone has any idea what he might be please let me know i am trying to get pictures on but do not have access to a camera just yet. please help thanks.

Your descriptions sounds like a species of Gonocephalus. The following link has some pictures which may possibly help to ID the lizard:
