adoption questions

lucille Feb 29, 2004 09:02 PM

I am looking to adopt an unwanted snake or two in Houston. What sort of questions should I ask if I run across someone with a snake they wish to give up?

Has it been to a vet? What are they feeding it? When did it eat last? Deficate last? Shed last? How long have they had it and from where did they get it?

Check for mites!

Ask the basic questions.....how long have you had the snake....what kind of enclosure.....how often and what are you feeding it......any problems or concerns with the animal.....whay are you getting rid of it.
I just recived a 2 1/2ft male ball python that was suposed to be aggresive and he just fine the guy wasn't properly taking care of him. I've asked numerous times if I'd take in an unwanted reptile since being back home for only a week. I already have a six to eight foot python coming to me soon.
